My Goal Setting Term 4 2019

I will try my best to achieve my goals this term.

Recount Writing On the holiday

On the holidays on a Monday I went to my Aunty’s and my cousin’s house. They live on a farm.
First we had weetbix for breakfast. Then we put on sunscreen and hats. After that we had to feed the dogs.
I said, “Ewwwww that is not a pleasant smell.”
After we fed the dogs we moved the cows but first we had to take off the fence line. Then we moved the line to a bigger place. After we did that we clicked the line back onto the poles. Then we went to get the pig buckets.
When we got back we went to pick some oranges from the tree. My auntie got a bowl and a knife and cut them up and put them in the bowl. Then when it was lunchtime.
There is always lots of work at my Aunty’s because it is a farm but I really like helping and feeding the animals. It’s cool fun.

My recount writing.

Here is a story of what I did.

On Saturday my Aunty came to my house with her new baby.
His name is Coby.
When he was born he was as small as a cracker
but now he is huge. Now he is as big as a cracker.
Me and my mum were having lunch when they came.
When I saw Coby I was soooo excited.
I was jumping up and down.
He is the cutest baby I have ever seen.
Then we went to New World to get some baby food for Coby.
We went back home and put him to sleep. He was asleep so my aunty put him in my mum’s 

bed and then I put a pillow under his head.

I put the other two pillows around him so he would not fall off the bed.

My aunty said, “Let’s go to her mum’s house.”
So she grabbed Coby and then she went to her mum's house.
And then me and my mum went to my cousin’s birthday.
She was turning 7 after we went back home.the end.

Statistical Investigation

At lunch with Nan and cousin.

I went to my Nans house for the holiday and so here is a story of when we went out for lunch WALT to use more interesting words and sentences in our Recounts.

In the holiday on a Wednesday, it was a nice sunny day me, my Nan and my cousin went to town in Dargaville, for lunch but first we went to Count down. Then we went to Sharaz. It is a place to eat. You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner there.

We went for lunch. My Nan ordered us a coke each from the bar. The man came to see what we wanted to eat. We all knew what we wanted to eat so my nan ordered our food straight away. I had butter chicken, and my Nan had a pizza. She said that they had the best pizzas but she did not even eat half of it. So I said, “Nan you didn’t even eat half of it.”

When I saw my food coming I was so excited. I had a huge smile on my face. I was as happy as a clown. I had some of the chicken. It was delicious.

My nan put the rice on the plate and then she put the chicken on the plate she had to do it because it was hot and if I did it I would have burnt myself. Then the man came again to give my cousin his food. He had fish and chips. We did not eat all of it so we took it home. We ate the leftover food from our lunch for dinner but my cousin did not eat his. He just wasted his food.

He was eating a chip from his plate and he spit it out on the table. I said, “Ewwwww that is disgusting.” He said that they were cold but when I had one they were nice and hot. Then he said that they were too hot and then my Nan came to put her pizza on the bench and she saw how much he ate so then she said, “Eat some more.”

But he still did not eat anything off his plate so he got in trouble. My nan said that if he did not eat his food he had to go to bed so he shoved his food in his mouth.

We are learning about rotational symmetry.

Today my class were making  paper windmills.

What we found out. 

We found out that if you put a fan in front of it it will spin faster. 

And we also found out that the smaller ones will spin faster than the big ones because the big ones were floppy.the last thing that we found out was that if you make a spacer with a bead it will not get stuck on the stick.

At the movies

At the movies.

On Saturday I went to my Aunty Boomby’s house in Whangarei with my mum.

Firstly we went to the movies. When we got there, I said to my mum, “IT SMELLS LIKE POPCORN!!!”

Then we got snacks. Me and my cousin got a simple drink and popcorn but my aunty, my mum and my other cousin got a basic combo. They got an ice-cream and my mum got some chocolate maltesers but she forgot that she had them because she put them in her bag.

The movie that we watched was called Aladdin but at the start it was dumb because at the start there were lots of adds so me and my cousin were mad. 

After all of the adds had finished the movie started but when the lights turned off my cousin got scared so she got her jacket and covered her face. 

Any way me and my cousin were so excited we had a huge smile on our faces. The movie was excellent. 

After the movie me and my cousin discussed what the funniest part of the movie was. My cousin thought that the funniest part was at the end because the Genie said, “You ain’t never had a friend like me.”

Homework.

Learning is important.

We need to learn at school and at home.

I think we should do homework everyday.

Firstly I think we should do homework

everyday because it helps us with spelling and we can practice words.

Practicing will help us to get 100% in our spelling.

Secondly I think we should do our homework

everyday so we can get smarter and better at our spelling and reading and maths.

Thirdly, I think we should do our homework every day

so we can achieve our learning goals.

By doing our homework you can achieve our goals.

So that's why I think we should do our homework everyday.

Persuasive writing-Brushing Teeth.

WALT use the correct structure and language for Persuasive Writing.
Brushing teeth

Teeth are important for chewing our food.

We need to look after them.
So I think we should brush our teeth every day.
Firstly I think we should brush our teeth
every day so that we don’t get
cavities and holes in our teeth.
Germs give us holes and cavities.
So we need to always brush our teeth
so we can brush the bugs away.
Secondly I think we should brush our
teeth every day because if you don’t
the little bugs will come in your mouth and eat
the remaining food in your mouth.
So if you brush your teeth every day
they don’t eat and eat at your teeth.
Thirdly I think we should brush our teeth
every day so you don’t get sore teeth
because if you get sore teeth
that means you have not been
looking after your teeth.
So that’s why I think we should brush our teeth every day.

My mum is fantastic.

She always helps me with my reading at home for my homework. She helps me when I am stuck.

When I am sad she gives me awhi.

When ever I need her she is there to support me.

Recount Writing- Mother's Day.

Mother’s Day

On Sunday it was Mother’s Day.

“Happy Mother’s Day to you,”
I sang all the way to my mums room
taking her toast for breakfast in the morning.
After breakfast my mum and my aunty went
to the workshop to do work but it was raining
and they had a lot of work so they were there
for most of the day.

So when they were working
we went shopping for our mum’s.
It was me, my two cousins and my uncle.

He gave us 20 bucks each.
Then we went to the Warehouse.
I got my mum some flowers. The flowers
I got her were pink. I got them because my Mum
loves pink.
Then I got her a card.
I wrote Dear Mum, I love you.
I love you to the moon and back.
That is what I said in my card.
I love my mum no matter what happens to us.

Here are my learning Goals for Term 1 2019. I will work hard to achieve my learning goals.

Recount Writing-At school.

I am learning to write my ideas in order.
At school we did some reading at play time me and my friends were playing a game on the park. The game we were playing was cops and robbers. It was fun playing then we had to stop playing because the bell was ringing. So we had to go back to class. At the end of the day I will be walking to my mum’s work. It's not far from the bus stop. It is only across the road so everyday all I have to do is cross the road. It is fun going to my mums work.

Explain Writing-Facility

What is a facility?

A facility is a place you can do stuff in.

- Some facilities at our school are

-The pool to learn how to swim

- The playground is for us to play with our friends

Recount Writing-My holiday

I am learning to write my ideas in order.

On the holiday I went to my nana's house with my cousins.

It was fun because we got to watch tv and we went for heaps of swims and we went for a bike ride. I really liked it at my nanas. It was the best time. I told my mum I would love to go back and she said, “Yes for sure.” But while I was there I did miss my mum.

and I had fun.

First we did lots of jobs then we had a break
and had some ice-cream. We all had chocolate.
The chocolate was yum.

After that we went for a bike ride to the park
and we rode our bikes around park.
It was very refreshing because we were outside.
Then we went back home. The bike ride was fun.
Next we had a rest then we watched a movie and we had popcorn. The movie was cool and the popcorn was buttery. Lastly we went to bed. It was amazing.
